What Happens During a Root Canal?

Root canals typically take place over the course of two separate appointments. During the first visit, Dr. Starostik will create a small window into the affected tooth, which will allow him to remove the infected pulp (a collection of tissue and nerves) that’s located within the inner chamber. He will fill the chamber with gutta percha to restore its structure and take an impression of the treated tooth, which will be sent to our dental laboratory to craft a crown. Once the crown arrives, our team will secure it to your treated tooth during your second appointment.
